Humble beginnings with the purchase of a one man operation in 1999, Jap Panel & Lenses became the birth place of non-genuine panel and lighting in Far North Queensland. With the support of local panel shops in the region, the business quickly out grew it's premises, no bigger than the size of a family double garage. A new larger shop, along with two new staff members, witnessed the business name changing to NQ Crash Parts in 2001. A new name also meant new products and introduced mechanical hard parts to the ever growing stock range.
Sourcing used parts from local and southern suppliers, both panel and mechanical, led to the inevitable purchase of a wrecking yard. Datoy Wreckers, established for, renamed C.A.R.S or Cairns Auto Recycling Specialists, resulted in better service and cheaper costs to NQ Crash Parts customers requiring used parts in the area. Desire to evolve and change people's perception of a wrecking yard, business grew rapidly, as did the number of vehicles for dismantling held in stock.
'Provide our customers with a solution to their automotive needs' became the new mission statement for NQ Crash & 4WD Spares. The amalgamation of NQ Crash Parts and Cairns Auto Recycling Specialists into a new premises of 2.5 acres, combined with the addition of three new staff members was officially launched on Friday 6th October 2006.
